Something New

You might have noticed the “Protected: Beta Readers’ Posts” for my current novel in progress, Datesville, that appear down the thread.  By the way, if you are interested in finding out more about how to become a Beta Reader for Datesville, I invite you to contact me by email at  [email protected].  But the beta reader posts are protected by password so not available to everyone.

But that brings me to my news.  I have now made five chapters of Datesville: Out of the Land of Bondage!—my current work in progress—available to everyone to read and enjoy.  You can find these chapter samples of Datesville in the SAMPLES tab above, or in the sidebar but, better yet, just follow this shortcut to the chapters, instead:  Shortcut to Datesville samples.

After you’ve read them, come back and drop a comment here to let everyone know what you think about the new work.  I hope to complete Datesville, publish and release it by next Spring, 2025.

  1. Thank you so much for your kind comment on my blog 🙂 I’ve been rather irregular online due to the examination season. However to remedy that I propose to blog regularly from now on and try to convert my blog into a web site in the process 🙂

    I trust you are well.

    1. You are most welcome. I never write to flatter; I only write what I mean and believe is true. I’ve not written much on my blog either, as I’m sure you’ve noticed. But I am making a little progress these days on Datesville again, although it is taking me more effort than normal at the moment. As a writer I know you’ll understand when I say: all of my efforts to further outline this story have failed. I’ve got notes but no cohesive outline. So, I’m just diving in and writing somewhat “blind”, you might say. I hope all is going well with you and your current writing projects. Dale

      1. The most interesting thing about this novel is that it is based in the future. And yet there are so many things that once can associate with the 1920s. Mark my words. This novel is going to be unique in more ways than one. You may safely concentrate on it for the moment 🙂

        1. This is what I’d hoped to hear from a well-read person and literary expert such as yourself. I wanted to write something that was an interesting read, specific in its authorship, and, I’d hoped, memorable. Thank you again for reading this work and for generously offering your feedback. When Datesville is finished and if you are willing, I would be honored if you wrote a brief critique for this novel from which I might include an excerpt in the front matter of the book itself. I will ask you formally when the time comes, but please think about it. I, of course, would be pleased to do the same for you. Thank you, Lopamudra. Dale p.s. I think this comment of yours will help me very much to concentrate on finishing Datesville.
